An awesome surprise came in the mail today from a sweet sweet friend!
Along with a lovely note, there was a map of Sofia, a pack of 3 CDS of Bulgarian conversation, a Bulgarian phrasebook, and a very special necklace that included a piece of a map where the orphanage is located. AMAZING!!! This will be cherished forever and ever. I am not sure where she finds these great gifts as this is not the first special gift I have gotten from Sandi. This gift comes from a friend I have never met in person however, I can not imagine my life without her sweetness!!!! THANKS so much Sandi. I am honored that you thought so much of our family :)
Nothing can top that unexpected gift but we did get notice of our fingerprint appointments with USCIS for our 800-a renewal. Of couse, it falls while we are gone. At least NBC is moving quickly it has been less than a month since I mailed it!!!

Try going early for your biometrics appointment if possible. They got me in over 3 weeks early b/c I walked in and explained what was going on. Safe travels and have a wonderful time. I will be following in a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteHave you been warned about the nodding thing? Bulgarians shake their head for "yes" and nod for "no." Trust me, all of the helpful phrases you learned can be totally cancelled out by nodding when you mean to shake or vice versa!! Just something to keep in mind! Safe travels!!
